Emergency services called to highway accident

QAS treates patient on scene but he refused transport to hospital.

ONE person was treated by the Queensland Ambulance Service on scene after an accident on the New England Highway this morning.

The vehicle involved in the single-vehicle rollover ended up in a ditch on the side of the highway at Braeside at 8.30am.

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Ambulance Service said a man involved in the accident was treated on scene but refused transport to hospital

A crew from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service Warwick station was on scene. A second QFES crew from Stanthorpe was on the way to the accident but were turned around before they arrived as they were no needed.

Police from Stanthorpe slowed down traffic after the accident.

The accident was on a section of highway where there are passing lanes and traffic continued using the passing lane. Traffic flow was back to normal by 10am.
