It’s that time of year again to bust out your knit jumpers, scarves and gloves for Warwick’s Jumpers and Jazz in July.

The 10-day event is set to kick off on Thursday, 20 July with event co-ordinators working tirelessly to bring it all together.

Jumpers and Jazz in July media co-ordinator Bet Bonney said the CBD was already thriving with the last of the tree jumpers going up ahead of day one on Thursday.

“There’s already a lot of excitement around the town and we’ve seen a lot of kids excited by the trees,” Ms Bonney said.

This year there’s also been a big push to provide the many out-of-town festival goers with more accommodation options that were outside of Warwick.

Ms Bonney urged event attendees to consider booking their accommodation at the local showgrounds or a stones throw away in Toowoomba.

“This year we’re really encouraging travellers to consider the different accommodation option available around the region and are especially encouraging caravans and campers to book in at the Warwick and Killarney showgrounds,” she said.

With more than 100 events to experience across the 10-day jam packed festival, the second and final weekend will be one of the most exciting boasting the likes of celebrity chef guest appearances, long lunches accompanied by more than 100 local flavours, as well as the kids zone and suitcase rummage.

“There really is something for everyone across the events, the long lunch event was actually sold out, but we’re hoping to get some extra tickets up on our website, so stay tuned,” Ms Bonney said.

The first weekend will feature the installation of the Yarntopian committee’s “Curiouser and Curiouser” in the foyer of the town hall, that was inspired by the 159th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adeventures in Wonderland novel.

Ms Bonney said the events organising committee were still seeking volunteers for various events over the festival and encouraged anyone who was interested in volunteering to apply via their website through the volunteers tab or by phoning the number provided on the website.
