A childcare centre in Warwick’s west saw a flurry of emergency services rush to action after reports of smoke inside the building.

It is understood firefighters, paramedics and police were called to the Wood St address after receiving reports of smoke inside the building.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the building had been evacuated when fire crews arrived at 9.20am.

Firefighters later determined a small hotplate had caught fire in the kitchen, the QFD spokesman said.

It is believed the minor incident occurred at the Westside Goodstart Early Learning Centre.

No injuries were reported, with firefighters deeming the building safe to return to just after 10am.
