A new top dog has been crowned as Warwick’s cutest dog for 2023.

Owners Tracey Baker and Buddah Fogarty said they initially submitted another beloved pet, but Buddah’s quick thinking made sure he commented a photo of the adorable Frankie.

Lucky they did, because the seven-month-old Shih tzu cleaned up the comp with 17 per cent of the vote.

“We call her Ewok because she looks so much like one. She’s adorable and loving, all in one package,” Ms Baker said.

“She touches hearts wherever she goes, I love coming home from work because she’s here for me - every day is a beautiful memory with her.”

Coming in second place, with a big cheeky grin, was Winter the border collie x golden retriever with 10 per cent of the total vote.

Winter has been with owner Melody Lee since she was an eight week old puppy.

Ms Lee said Winter was such a loveable, goofy dog who can be a bit shy and scaredy cat sometimes.

“My favourite thing about Winter would be definitely her goofiness,” Ms Lee said.

“She howls whenever she is happy, she steals our socks and runs away hoping to get chased, she pretends to protect the house whenever we are actually watching her, she is such an incredible dog that makes everyone of our family smile.”

Ms Lee said one of her favourite memories with Winter was taking her to the beach.

“She (got) into trouble as she was keep stealing the other doggies’ toys but the owners thought she was very cute,” she said.

Finally, in third place was Ula the Belgian Malinois with 7 per cent of the vote.

Ula’s owner Jason Bosworth said the Ula was an extremely hard working dog, who used to be a working dog in K9 security.

The now-retired K9 handler said the seven-year-old dog used to have important roles throughout South East Queensland, including protecting property and people as well as patrols, before they both retired.

“She’s certainly had a good time, now she’s happy just relaxing and being a dog. She’s very good natures a hard-worker, and she’s always been there when I’ve needed her,” Mr Bosworth said.

“She’s done numerous arrests on the job and she’s very intelligent.”
