Ticketing provider Ticketek has renewed its longstanding partnership with Suncorp Stadium, securing its exclusive role as the ticketing service for Queensland’s largest stadium.
The renewed contract, awarded by Stadiums Queensland following a competitive tender, extends Ticketek’s 20-year relationship with the venue, known for hosting major sports and music events, including Brisbane Broncos and Queensland Reds games and concerts by international superstars like Ed Sheeran and Pink.
Ticketek’s “best-in-class” ticketing technology will continue to power the stadium’s events for the foreseeable future, the company confirmed.
Geoff Jones, CEO of Ticketek’s parent company TEG, expressed his pride in the partnership’s renewal, underscoring Ticketek’s dedication to setting new standards in fan engagement at the iconic venue
“We are delighted to renew our Partnership with Suncorp Stadium. For over 20 years, we have ticketed some of the largest Events in Queensland,” he said.
“Together, we look forward to setting new benchmarks in ticketing and fan engagement, ensuring that every Event at Suncorp Stadium is an unforgettable experience for all fans.”
Stadiums Queensland CEO Todd Harris highlighted the importance of choosing an innovative partner to enhance event accessibility, safety, and overall fan engagement.
“We needed an innovative ticketing services partner to provide world-leading technology for our amazing Suncorp Stadium events, and after a very competitive tender process, we are extremely pleased to be renewing our partnership with Ticketek,” he said.
“Stadiums Queensland are looking forward to working closely with Ticketek to continually evolve and enhance the fan experience and provide accessible, inclusive, safe and enjoyable events at Suncorp Stadium.”
The announcement comes just months after Ticketek was impacted by a significant cyber incident in May, where customer information held by a global third-party supplier was exposed.
This breach affected names, dates of birth, and email addresses, though the company assured customers that passwords and credit card details remained secure due to separate systems and secure encryption practices.
Ticketek has since notified affected customers and continues to work with the Australian Cyber Security Centre and other authorities to manage the fallout.
Despite the recent security breach, Ticketek remains Australia’s largest ticketing provider, selling over 23 million tickets annually.
With the partnership, Suncorp Stadium will also have access to TEG’s data platform Ovation, providing insights to tailor future events to meet audience preferences.
