Three teens charged and specialist police called to a South East Brisbane suburb

Three teens have been charged after specialist police were called to an address Brisbane suburb after alleged stolen vehicle tracked over 80km.

Three teens have been charged over an alleged stolen vehicle tracked all the way from the Gold Coast.

The Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) were called to Juliette Street, Greenslopes, after an allegedly stolen black Ford Ranger was seen in the area at around 9.40am.

Local residents captured the moment police swarmed on the group.

The Ford Ranger was allegedly stolen from Belmont Drive, Varsity Lakes, on March 16.

The three teenagers were taken into custody without incident at the address.

It comes as Queensland has reported twice as many cars are being stolen each year across the state compared to a decade ago, with the cost to victims totalling more than $100m a year.

Almost 7000 claims were made last year worth $113m, amounting to 19 claims a day and 1201 more than the more populated New South Wales.

A 16-year-old Coomera boy was charged with two counts of enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due before Brisbane Childrens Court on March 19.

A 15-year-old Pacific Pines girl was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due before Southport Childrens Court on March 26.

A 15-year-old Forest Lake boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling and commit, enter premises and commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property and two counts of stealing,

He is due before Brisbane Childrens Court on March 20.
