Three people have been charged after allegedly being dragged from a suspected stolen luxury car following a collision with an unmarked police vehicle that intercepted them in Brisbane’s CBD. SEE FOOTAGE

Three people have been dragged from a suspected stolen luxury car and charged after a police vehicle was allegedly rammed in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

The alleged incident happened near the city’s courts complex at the intersection of George and Turbot streets about 3.30pm on Friday, after police observed the suspected stolen Audi Q7 worth over $100,000.

Video and images from the scene show a female restrained on the kerb while a male occupant is pulled from the car on to the street in a police headlock.

Officers in an unmarked police car attempted to intercept the Audi while it was idling at traffic lights, and were allegedly rammed by the vehicle.

The three occupants were removed from the vehicle and taken into police custody and later charged.

A 35-year-old Labrador man has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of a relevant substance (1,4 Butanediol), disqualified driving, and obstruction of police.

The substance 1,4 Butanediol found in the man’s possession is a chemical that, upon consumption, is converted into the recreational drug GHB. GHB, or gamma hydroxybutyrate, also known as “liquid ecstasy”.

The man was also charged with possession of tainted property, after another car key was allegedly found in his possession.

A 34-year-old Annerley woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine).

A 34-year-old Nundah man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and obstruction of police.

He was charged with possession of tainted property, after another car key was also allegedly found in his possession.

Both the Labrador man and Annerley woman will face Brisbane Magistrates court on Saturday, while the Nundah man will face the Brisbane Magistrate on June 16.

Two Queensland police officers suffered injuries requiring treatment in hospital, however they are in a stable condition.

The luxury model Audi Q7 was allegedly stolen from a Maudsland address on the Gold Coast on May 19.
