Celebrate Australia Day in style with an array of events across the region on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Whether you’re after a hearty breakfast, live music, family activities, or dazzling fireworks, the Sunshine Coast has something for everyone. Here’s your ultimate guide to the festivities.

All day events:

Tickle Park, Coolum Beach: Celebrate from 7am to 5:30pm with food, music, and entertainment.

Marcoola Rocks: A full day of fun at Felix Parry Park, Marcoola, starting at 7am. The event features a fun run, live music, games, rides, and concludes with fireworks at 7pm.

Noosa Australia Day Festival: Celebrate from 10am to 4pm with the Tewantin Noosa Lions Club at Lions Park, Noosaville. Enjoy live music, kids’ activities, delicious food, and a vibrant community atmosphere by the Noosa River.

Sunshine Coast’s biggest backyard family bash at The Banana Bender Pub: Celebrate Australia Day with dunny races, cane toad races, Aussie food, and free kids’ activities at The Banana Bender Pub. From 5pm, enjoy live music from AC/DC High Voltage, Oz Rock Anthems, and Whiteford. Fun for the whole family!

Show and Shine: Car enthusiasts can head to Glasshouse Mountains Sports Club at 8am.

Marcoola Surf Club 50th Anniversary: Join the celebrations from 7am with a Fun Run, live tunes, games, and a movie under the stars after fireworks at 7pm.

Aussie Day at the The Woombye Pub: Celebrate from 10am to 10pm with live music by Johnny Spitz, kids’ activities, a pig on the spit, and a chance to win your height in beer cartons!

Australia Day breakfast: Start your day with a classic Aussie brekkie at Montville Village Park from 7am.

Buderim big brekkie: Enjoy a hearty meal at Middy’s Carpark, Buderim, also from 7am.

Hinterland Aussie Day expo: Explore community displays and activities at Maleny Showground from 8.30am to 12pm.

Flag-raising ceremonies

Patriotic events will be held at Lions Park, Kings Beach, and Maleny Showground at 7.30am.

Buderim Picnic in the Park: From 4.30pm to 8pm, enjoy live music, street food, and a spectacular fireworks display at Buderim Village Park. Performances include the Sunshine Blues Band, Fiona O’Shea & Band, and local favourite M7. Soprano Michelle Bull will perform We Are Australian before the Bendigo Bank Fireworks at 8pm.

Eumundi under the stars: At Dick Caplick Park, from 6.30pm, featuring a screening of Paper Planes under the stars.

Citizenship ceremonies

Palmwoods Town Square: From 7.30am to 9.30am.

Sunshine Coast Council ceremony: Held at Venue 114, Bokarina, from 9am to 11am (invitation only).
