The state government announced this week that 50c fares are here to stay with the cost projected to reach $1.5bn across the next four years.

Transport Minister Brent Mickelberg says the fares would provide financial relief and improved traffic flow for motorists.

The Courier-Mail went to three key South East Queensland stations - Springwood, Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast - to ask commuters what they really think.
