A Sunshine Coast strawberry farm is open to expressions of interest after the company, which formerly operated on the site, collapsed owing creditors more than $4m.
The farm, Twin Creek Junction, spans more than 100 hectares in the Glass House Mountains, according to the real estate listing.
The principal place of business for the company, Twin Creek Junction Pty Ltd, is listed at 38 Morrison Rd, Glass House Mountains.
According to Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents, the company, Twin Creek Junction Pty Ltd, was placed into voluntary liquidation by creditors in February this year, with Gavin Morton appointed as the liquidator.
ASIC documents show the company’s director, Leonard Brian Smith, acted in the role since October last year; prior to that the company was directed by Tracey Leigh Smith.
The report from the liquidator, published to ASIC in May 2025, revealed the company had accumulated more than $4m in debt.
The report states Mr Smith put the company’s failure down to being “unable to pay bills and wages”.
According to the report there are seven secured creditors owed about $3.28m, and seven unsecured creditors are owed $430,821.
The liquidator’s report also stated 393 employees were owed a total of $810,448 by the company, consisting of wages and superannuation.
Mr Morton said in the report the company had substantial unpaid employee entitlements, trading losses and related party loans, which may suggest a period of insolvent trading before the company closed down in February.
“From my preliminary investigations, it appears that the company was insolvent since at least July 2022,” Mr Morton said.
The report shows Mr Morton estimates the company has a realisable value of about $530,000.
Mr Morton stated in the report a related company to Twin Creek Junction Pty Ltd, named Twin Creek Produce Pty Ltd, “assumed operation of the strawberry farm following the liquidation of the company”.
The landowner of the site, SS Group Pty Ltd, is also described by Mr Morton in the report as a “related entity”.
Mr Morton has been contacted by this publication for comment.
