A Sunshine Coast construction company accumulated nearly $7m in debt prior to its collapse, new documents have revealed.
The Birtinya-based company, Australia Construction Pty Ltd, was placed into voluntary liquidation last week, appointing liquidator Nick Combis.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents show Scott Peter Jury was appointed as the director of the company in June this year.
Documents revealing the estimated debts for the construction company were published to the corporate regulator on Wednesday, September 11.
The director’s report on company activities estimates the total debt owed to creditors to be about $6.94m.
According to the figures advised by Mr Jury, the company owes the Commonwealth Bank of Australia the largest debt, totalling to $6.8m.
The documents also listed a dozen companies as secured creditors, with estimated debts totalling to about $50,000.
The documents stated the company, Australis Scaffolding Pty Ltd, which was placed into administration over a $2m debt last month, is a related party.
ASIC records show Mr Jury is a co-director of the scaffolding company along with Kevin Lee and Luke Harper-Green.
A further two separate companies, Australis Safety Rail Pty Ltd and Australis Roofing Pty Ltd, were also named in the documents as related parties to the construction business.
Mr Jury has been contacted by this publication for comment.
