Sunshine Coast trainer Gary “Jack” Duncan is eager to see what his stable’s “top chances” can do ahead of the redesigned Hollindale Stakes raceday at Corbould Park on Saturday.

Traditionally run at Aquis Park, the Hollindale Stakes raceday will be staged on the Sunshine Coast this Saturday while the $63m redevelopment of the Gold Coast Turf Club is completed.

The nine-race card will feature more than $1.6m in prizemoney with a $200,000 bonus on offer should a horse win the feature race and back it up with a win in the Doomben Cup or the Q22 Races held later in the Winter Carnival.

Trainer Annabel Neasham confirmed in April that Zaaki will look to repeat his success with the four-time Group 1 winning gelding aiming to create history by winning his third successive Hollindale Stakes.

Last year Zaaki joined the likes of Rough Habit (1991 and 1992), Shogun Lodge (2000 and 2001) and Leebaz (2015 and 2016) as the only horses to have won back-to-back Hollindale Stakes but no horse has ever recorded a three-peat.

Duncan said Seat Of Power would not run in the $500,000 Group 2 Hollindale Stakes, instead opting to target the Member’s Handicap at Doomben on May 13.

“He’s first up and so the 1800m seems to much to ask so instead we’ll take the extra week and run him over a mile next weekend,” he said.

“Goldsborough is going good, 850m might be a bit short but he’s first-up, has been working well so I’m pretty happy with him as our best chance.

“Indispensable is the other one and he’s in good form and he’ll go well.

“I’ve got him in two but he’ll more than likely run in the ATC Cup over 1200m and will give himself a good chance.”

He said five-year-old mare Dzsenifer would look to defend her 2022 Silk Stocking title.

“She won it last year but she’s not going so well at the moment,” he said.

“She’s a great horse, is just coming to the end of her career I think but could surprise.

“They’ve all been set for these races and can all go well.”

Duncan is no stranger to home-ground metropolitan success after taking out the Group 3 Winx Guineas in 2020 with Wapiti and finishing second with Dzsenifer in 2021.
