AUSSIES go mad for "BIG" things, with everything from our own Big Pineapple to a Big Banana at Coffs Harbour and a Big Golden Guitar at Tamworth.
The latest big thing to hit the spotlight is the Big Cow at Kulangoor, north of Nambour, as its vendors prepare to take the property to auction after 14 years ownership.
The property was developed as the Country World tourist attraction - a working farm running Ayrshire cows, where visitors could learn about the dairy industry.
Sculpted by Hugh Anderson, who was also behind the Big Bulls at Rockhampton, the Big Cow is an exact replica, but seven times larger.
The Big Cow also became home to the Sunshine Coast's first air-sea rescue helicopter, with the old helipad still on site.
Current owner Living Outdoors Pty Ltd bought the property in 2000, and ran it as The Outdoor Centre for 12 years, before re-zoning it to become one of Coast's largest training centres.
Nambour Regional Training Centre has been operational for nearly two years and they've hired the facilities to companies all over Australia and have three permanent training tenants in the marine, mining and disability industries in place.
The complex has parking for up to 70 vehicles and easy access to the Bruce Hwy. One Agency Noosa principal Grant Baker said: "It has a very good rental yield, which will provide excellent returns on investment. The property will got to auction on Wednesday, April 9, at 3pm.
