Love him or hate him, his presence on the Coast certainly caused a stir.
Eighteen hours after the Daily announced his visit on its Facebook page, 953 people had shared their respective delight, sarcasm and displeasure.
And it seems we have forgotten one of the most basic rules taught to us as children by our parents: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Sure, the Beeb has placed himself in the spotlight, but does that make him fair game for the bullies of the online world?
No.
You might not like his voice, or his style of music, his haircut or the way he conducts himself, but expressing those views in a nasty way, attacking him using vile and derogatory remarks, is not okay.
Comments like this are not okay: "On behalf of the Sunshine Coast, piss off you little egotistical man-child", "Go home little girl...you're a disgrace. Can't see why anyone likes you the way you talk to your fans", "Isn't the surf really big at the moment? Perhaps more chance of him drowning!!!"
Why? Believe it or not, Justin Bieber is a human being too.
He has feelings like you and I.
He might even have read every appalling word.
Just because he's famous, doesn't make it alright to spew disgusting hate about him on Facebook.
Sure, you're free to say if you don't like the way he talks to his fans, but leave the name calling out of it.
