The cause of the Sunshine Coast hinterland fire is being investigated by police.

Police are continuing to investigate a blaze that destroyed a tiny house in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said on Monday, May 12, firefighters were called to Paddy Melon Lane in Belli Park, west of Eumundi, about 7.45am to reports of a tiny home on fire.

She said paramedics and police were also called.

Another Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the fire was well involved when four crews arrived on scene who worked to extinguish the fire from the outside.

A third Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the crews put the fire out within 20 minutes, and it was out by 8.20am.

Crews searched the home but no one was found inside.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said no one had been treated by paramedics.

A fire investigator was back at the scene on May 13.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was still undetermined and a police investigation continued.

She said anyone with information about the fire should come forward.

Boy bike rider rushed to hospital after crash with car

A boy has been taken to a Sunshine Coast hospital after he was hit while riding his bike.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a “pre-teen” boy suffered arm and leg injuries in the crash with a car on Dixon Rd in Buderim about 7.20am on May 13.

He was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
