National insurance provider Youi is set to undergo one of its most intense recruitment drives in recent years as it fills roles at its Sunshine Coast base.

With demand for its services surging, Youi is looking for 65 employees to fill positions in its customer service, sales and claims departments.

Youi chief executive Hugo Schreuder said the company was recruiting from a wide range of backgrounds to embark on a potential career change.

Mr Schreuder said the Covid-19 pandemic had brought a lot of unexpected changes, not just for Youi’s customers but also its people.

He said it was sad to see some of the region’s traditionally strong industries crippled by the pandemic.

“During such uncertain times, it is pleasing that Youi is able to offer hope and employment prospects to those who have sadly been affected by the pandemic or seeking a new career change,” Mr Schreuder said.

“We have been fortunate to welcome many new faces with diverse skills and backgrounds from a range of industries, including those hard-hit by Covid-19 and help them forge their new career path.”

Tommy Schmidhauser said he joined on as a sales adviser after hearing about the strong culture and growth potential.

“Regardless of whether you are a sea-changer, a career-changer, experienced or inexperienced, you just need to have a genuine passion for great customer service,” he said.

Stacey Rudduck, a former events co-ordinator turned customer service delivery adviser, said her recent job gave her flexibility to work from home.

“I feel safe and secure, knowing that no one has become out of work due to Covid-19 and, even with recent lockdown restrictions, we can easily work from home with continued support from management and IT,” Ms Rudduck said.

Youi employs about 1300 people nationwide with 1100 based at Sippy Downs.
