‘If we don’t get interstate customers at Christmas, I don’t think we’ll be here’

A “hybrid” resort has opened at Noosa with trendy features such as a glass-edged pool and licensed outdoor cafe.

Bounce Noosa opened recently after being more than three years in the making.

The Mary Street resort was initially planned in 2018 to be a “quality hostel development” aimed at backpackers and budget travellers.

Owner operator Mark Baldwin said in light of border closures the Bounce Noosa resort was designed for domestic tourists from solo travellers to groups and families.

“Building during the pandemic has been tough and we are opening with border closures that are significantly affecting all tourism and hospitality operators,” he said.

“We’ve had to shift our offering to something that is attractive to the domestic market.

“Noosa has some amazing properties so we have had to work hard to create a new kind of offering that will compete among some exceptional brands.

“We feel that we’ve done that with an affordable accommodation option that offers high quality resort style facilities, and we hope the market feel the same way.”

It is described as an “accommodation hybrid” featuring options for solo travellers, couples, families or groups.

It has dorm-style accommodation that can be booked by groups or individuals, as well as deluxe suites with an ensuite and kitchenette.

Co-owner, Gerry Incollingo said Noosa was one of the best locations to visit for a taste of paradise.

“We are looking forward to welcoming a range of domestic travellers whether they are on a weekend getaway, heading to Noosa for a wedding or event, on a family holiday or even a little staycation for those in the area,” Mr Incollingo said.
