Sunshine Coast Council is responsible for maintaining more than 2200km of local roads throughout our region.
That’s about the same road distance from here to Adelaide, so as you can appreciate, it’s a big job.
The council carries out this sizeable task through its Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program and I’m very pleased to report that investigations are under way for safety improvements and potential upgrades to a 2.8km stretch of Petrie Creek Rd, between Paynters Creek Rd and Celestine Place.

Major works to begin on coastal pathway extension
During this current phase, there will be various contractors undertaking surveying, intersection studies, traffic counts and geotechnical operations.
So if you’re travelling along Petrie Creek Rd over the coming weeks, please take extra care.
Have your say on the future of our four-legged friends
Whether you’re a pet owner or not, the council is seeking your feedback on the Domestic Animal Management (cats and dogs) Strategy for the next 10 years.
This strategy is all about creating a harmonious coexistence between people and pets in our region and your feedback is crucial to shaping this new strategy.
