One Nation to preference LNP at Queensland State Election in October despite Pauline Hanson’s distrust of David Crisafulli

Pauline Hanson has declared One Nation’s preferences for the State Election, saying she won’t give Labor another term but also that she doesn’t trust LNP leader David Crisafulli, launching a scathing attack on the man vying to be Premier.

Pauline Hanson has declared One Nation will preference the LNP over Labor at this year’s State Election, despite her “distrust” of party leader David Crisafulli.

Moments after saying she would preference the LNP, Ms Hanson launched a scathing attack on Mr Crisafulli over his initial support for a First Nations Treaty.

During a whirlwind press conference to announce One Nation’s candidate for the Ipswich West by-election, Ms Hanson vented her frustration with the current Labor government.

“Queensland is in one hell of a mess,” she said.

“The hospital system is failing, the policing, the escalating crime, the cost-of-living – this is all due to Labor.”

Ms Hanson then detailed her position on party preferences.

“As I tell people all of the time, give One Nation your number one vote, and then think to yourself that if we don’t get up, who is our next best choice?” she said.

“And I would suggest to you that it is not Labor.

“So I will not be recommending preferences to Labor over the LNP.”

However, Ms Hanson then went on to declare her distrust of the LNP and attacked the party’s Queensland leader David Crisafulli for initially supporting a First Nations Path to Treaty, before he withdrew his support a few days after The Voice referendum.

“I hope there is a balance of power with One Nation, because I don’t really trust the LNP either,” she said.

“Crisafulli was actually going to go ahead with a Treaty in Queensland, which we don’t need, especially in light of how Queenslanders voted against the Voice.

“We want a united state, where all people are equal.”

Ms Hanson then adjusted focus once again and continued her attack on the Labor government.

“I would not give the Labor Party another term in government, and I think that’s how the people are starting to wake up,” she said.

“They’re full of bureaucrats and people who don’t have an understanding and who are not connected to grassroot Australians.

“Why the influx of people into the state when we don’t have the infrastructure to keep up with it? Why are our hospital systems and education failing? Why are police not joining the police force? It’s all failing. It’s too much bureaucratic red tape.

“This is due to Labor.

“Do I have faith in the Coalition? No.

“We need One Nation who actually has the policies.”

One Nation’s Ipswich West candidate will be local businessman Mark Bone, 67. The by-election on March 16 was triggered by Labor MP Jim Madden’s resignation.

Mr Bone believes local priorities are similar to statewide issues – healthcare and crime, particularly youth crime. He added that small business is struggling with too much “red tape”.

“I’ve been self-employed since I was 18 – so 50-odd years,” he said.

“I’ve worked through the good times and the bad times, but I’m still here.

“Now it’s time to give back through the experience I’ve gained over those years and the state and federal governments I’ve seen come and go.

“One Nation has got policies in a lot of those (priority) areas, so we will just be supporting those and promoting those.

“But I will be working with the locals over the next few months to work out exactly what they would like me to present if we win this by-election.”
