It’s understood former deputy premier Jackie Trad and Greens candidate Amy McMahon were both campaigning on the same street corner in the electorate yesterday.

The situation was riddled with tension after the Greens’ South Brisbane branch secretary Joann Horton had posted a vile movie quote on twitter that referenced Ms Trad.

“This party is the nastiest skank bitch I’ve ever met. DO NOT TRUST THEM. they are a fugly s***!!!!!” Ms Horton added to the tweet.

The Greens downplayed the incident saying it was a reference from the movie Mean Girls.

The Sunday Mail has learnt both candidates were campaigning on the same corner yesterday but Ms McMahon made no attempt to explain the tweet to Ms Trad.
