Trevor Watts is only candidate that currently calls Toowoomba North home

With two candidates missing in action, The Chronicle could confirm only one Toowoomba North candidate calls the electorate home.

Voters out early for Queensland election

TWO candidates for Toowoomba North are missing in action.

The Chronicle has reached out to Pauline Hanson’s One Nation and the United Australia Party about their candidates Ron Humphrey and Stella Sokolova, to interview them and ask if they live in the electorate, but emails have been ignored.

Incumbent LNP MP Trevor Watts is the only MP confirmed to live in the electorate.

“I think it is fundamentally important,” Mr Watts said.

“If you want to be a strong local voice, you need to be connected with the issues, the lives and aspirations.

“I understand the issues as I’ve lived in Highfields … in Toowoomba North.”

While Labor candidate Megan O’Hara Sullivan lives in Greenmount and Greens candidate Alyce Nelligan in Cambooya, both have committed to moving to the electorate if elected, and have both often spoken on their long connection with the area.

“I’m well versed in this region … I lived in Toowoomba right up to five years ago,” Ms Nelligan said.
