Toowoomba North candidates have made their final pitch to voters ahead of polls opening for the 2020 state election at 8am today.

Toowoomba North candidates have made their final pitch to voters ahead of polls closing at 6pm today.
Incumbent LNP MP Trevor Watts said his party was committed to making sure people had jobs.
“We’re interested in getting Queensland working again, we’re interested in building infrastructure,” he said.
“That’s why we will approve New Acland stage three.
“These are the things important to our region.”
Labor candidate Megan O’Hara Sullivan said she believed it was time for change in the seat.
“Sometimes in politics, there doesn’t seem to be too much difference between the major parties,” she said.
“This time it’s a very clear choice between myself and the conservative candidate.
“I hope to be a voice for more progressive views like voluntary assisted dying, our environmental controls, renewables.”
Greens candidate Alyce Nelligan said she was invested in the comuntiy.
“I have a great track record working for the community,” she said.
“I’m really passionate about fixing social issues, creating more housing and helping more people afford schooling.”
The Chronicle was unable to contact the One Nation or United Australia Party candidates for Toowoomba North at any time during the campaign, despite several attempts.
Over the seat of Condamine, the LNP’s Pat Weir will fight to retain his seat against a number of other candidates.
They include the Greens’ Sean Womersley, One Nation’s Greg Priebe, Labor’s Brendon Huybregts and UAP’s Nui Harris.
Voting will open today at 8am and close at 6pm.
