Re-elected Condamine MP Pat Weir says he’s “very honoured” to be re-elected to the electorate for a third term.
Mr Weir secured 54.9 per cent of the first preference vote, and recorded a 13.1 per cent swing to him, despite the LNP recording a swing against them across the state.
“I’m very appreciative of the support,” Mr Weir said.
“To get a result like that when the tide is going the other way is a good result.”
As the LNP are in opposition, Mr Weir said he won’t as easily be able to deliver on his election commitments, such as a business case into a new high school at Westbrook and the approvals of New Acland stage three, but he won’t walk away from those issues.
“Those are issues I’ve advocated for so long and I’ll continue too,” he said.
