CONDAMINE MP Pat Weir pledged Pittsworth Rugby League Club house $110,000 to upgrade change rooms and showers, plus an extra $155,000 to upgrade its internal pathways.
“They’ve had an issue with their internal traffic,” Mr Weir said.
“Kids are going from oval to oval all while cars are coming in and out.
“The amenities are in dire need of an upgrade.”
The commitment was one of several made by Mr Weir yesterday, who also launched his re-election campaign at the Royal Bull’s Head Inn.
“We’ve pledged $90,000 to the Royal Bull’s Head Inn for restorations and refurbishment,” he said.
“LNP president Cynthia Hardy did the launch for me … she’s a constituent of mine in Condamine.”
Mr Weir said he had also committed $60,000 to the Greenmount Hall to fix issues with its flooring and roof, as well as $40,000 to the Wyreema Hall for restoration works.
“A lot of these organisations, due to COVID-19, haven’t been able to run and get an income,” he said.
“The overheads keep coming even though the revenue isn’t coming.
“These announcements are for them.”
