Revealed: The winner of the Murrumba electorate and what it means for you

Deputy Premier Steven Miles has claimed victory in the seat of Murrumba - beating LNP caniddate Yvonne Barlow with 51.18 per cent of the vote.

The seat covers the suburbs of Dakabin, Murrumba Downs, Griffin, parts of Mango Hill, Rothwell and Kippa-Ring.

Mr Miles has held the seat of Murrumba since the 2017 election - his previous electorate of Mount Cooth-ha was abolished during the redistribution.

The key eleciton issues that decided the vote were health, education, roads and infrastructure.

Here is what it means for you:

Health

Labor, if re-elected, will deliver a $37.5 million Pine Rivers Satellite Hospital, supporting 109 construction jobs.

While the Redcliffe Hospital is not in the Murrumba electorate its residents use it. Labor has pledged to put $6 million towards hospital expansion plans.

Roads

A massive $2.1 billion will be set aside for a congestion busting plan including the Moreton Connector, on/off ramps at Dohles Rocks Road and upgrades to the Bruce Highway, Gateway Motorway and Gympie Road.

Education

Dakabin State School will benefit from $500,000 in upgrades.

Another $8.8 million has been promised to deliver the Dakabin Family and Community Place at Dakabin State School and Dakabin State High School

Undurba State School will reiceve $500,000 to refurbish its out of school hours care facility

Mango Hill State School will get $10.9million for a new multi-storey classroom block.

Infrastructure

Labor has promised to create 200 new carparks at Mango Hill train station and a new park and ride
