Stanthorpe man has multiple child sex offences, drug charges mentioned in court

An alleged child abuser, who has a long list of charges ranging from child abduction to drug and weapon possession, will learn his fate in a matter of weeks after his matters were adjourned.

An alleged child abuser who has a long list of charges will learn his fate in a matter of weeks, after his matters were adjourned to a later date.

The man, who cannot legally be named, is facing a host of charges and was scheduled to appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The man is facing several disturbing charges, including abduction of a child under 16, possessing child exploitation material, indecent treatment of a child under 16 (procure to commit) child under 12, and indecent treatment of a child under 16 - child under 12.

Further charges police will alleged against the man include; possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing used drug utensils, unlawful weapon possession (cat A, B or M) and failure to comply with reporting.

On Wednesday, the police prosecution revealed the matter would be adjourned following the brief of evidence being supplied to the defence.

The man will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court again on August 9.
