A Granite Belt woman has fronted court after she lashed out at her ex-partner by keying his car after the man moved on with her best friend.
Police prosecutor Steve de Lissa told the Stanthorpe Magistrates Court Lyra Christa Parker had met her ex-husband at a Dalveen park on March 17 at 5pm for a child handover.
Sergeant de Lissa said the 30-year-old then damaged her ex’s car by using some sort of solid object to scratch the bonnet.
Defence lawyer Hamish Chapman said his client became “unwell” after the breakdown of her relationship and the dispute over joint property and vehicles.
He added that Parker “lashed out in an inappropriate way” after finding out her ex-husband’s new partner was her best friend.
Magistrate Julian Noud said the woman’s actions caused “great irritation” to her ex.
Parker pleaded guilty to wilful damage.
The Dalveen woman was fined $200 and ordered to pay $430 in restitution to her ex.
No conviction was recorded.
