A new Stanthorpe petrol station owner is excited to kick start her new life on the Granite Belt and has big plans for the future of the small business to attract new customers.

Metro Stanthorpe owner Srivani Miriyala said she has worked in the service station industry for the past two years and wanted to continue her personal development by buying her own petrol station.

“We had other opportunities to buy in other places but I heard (Stanthorpe) was a good place with good schools, so once I found this place I knew I had to have it,” she said.

Mrs Miriyala has plans to introduce hot food like kebabs to the shop as well as offer hot coffee.

Mrs Miriyala moved to Stanthorpe with her husband Bhushan and two daughters for a “new start” last month.

“Im happy with what I bought. It’s my first business I’ve owned and it’s still a bit nerve-racking but I have no regrets from buying it,” she said.

Originally from Brisbane, Mrs Miriyala said she was looking forward to meeting new people and impressing customers with her friendly and affordable service.

“I like to serve people and help them. Just the other day when a customer came in I filled their fuel tank and that felt rewarding,” she said.

“It’s so good to hear when customers are very happy with your service.”

Mr Miriyala said his wife was a “very hard worker” and friendly to all customers.

“I look forward to seeing people support the small business that my wife solely owns and runs,” he said.
