GRANITE Belt drivers will only have to put up with highway delays for one more month with the New England Highway upgrade nearing completion.
A Transport and Main Roads spokesperson said the works between Warwick and Wallangarra were progressing as scheduled.
"More than half are complete, despite some wet weather delays in late February and early March,” the spokesperson said.
"The project is expected to be completed in early July, weather permitting.”
TMR said traffic controllers were continuing to monitor queue lengths to ensure delays were minimised.
"In the interests of road users and construction workers' safety, we ask all drivers to follow traffic signs and drive to conditions,” the spokesperson said.
The $11.63million upgrade, which began in January, includes a new overtaking lane and wider centre lines.
