Woman found dead on highway near Yarraman

POLICE officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating after a woman was found deceased on a road at Yarraman overnight.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said they were called to the New England Highway near the intersection of Tarong Yarraman Road at 11.40pm. On arrival they found a woman, aged 51, deceased in the middle of the road.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics responded to incident just after midnight.
"For reports of a pedestrian and vehicle incident," the spokesperson said.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling the New England Highway between 11pm and 11.40pm to contact them. Police also urge anyone with relevant dash cam vision to contact them.
It is believed the woman was on the road and has been struck by a passing vehicle.
Investigations are continuing.
