An application for a 31-lot subdivision on the edge of Kingaroy has been preliminarily approved by the South Burnett Regional Council.
The proposed development will subdivide one lot located at 22-30 Bridget Carroll Road, Kingaroy into 31 house blocks of varying sizes.
Allotments will range in size from 4000sqm to 8066sqm, with most lots about 4000sqm.
As well as the subdivision, the development includes a new road into the estate and a drainage lot.
The council has also requested additional roadworks to be completed along Haly Street and Bridget Carroll Road.
The recommended roadworks include widening a section of Bridget Carroll Road, installing street lighting, upgrading the intersection of Haly St and Bridget Carroll Road, and reconstructing the existing pavement.

The application said the proposed development would respond to the need for additional housing to accommodate the growing population in the region.
“The development proposes a logical expansion to the major regional centre of Kingaroy on the periphery of the urban centre, accommodating population growth on appropriately rural residential lifestyle lots,” the application said.
The application was submitted by Hillhouse Development Group Pty LTD.
