A LEADING product has significantly helped the team at Evolution Solar with their business venture.

SolarEdge is an Israeli- designed product that the Kingaroy solar energy provider has been installing in homes across the South Burnett for the past decade.

Evolution Solar co-owner Stevan Tilley said for every 10products they sold, nine were a SolarEdge system.

"At the moment the system is leading the field in three departments: efficiency, warranty and installation accessibility,” Mr Tilley said.

"The system is customised to suit each customer's needs, which means they have a different number of panels and are located on the roof to fit the design.”

Ten years ago, Evolution Solar was one of the first businesses in Queensland to sell the popular product.

"Customers just love it,” Mr Tilley said.

"Even though it is a bit more expensive than other systems, when you look on the big scheme of things it's well worth it.

"We have installed Solar Edge systems for entire families from grandparents down to grandchildren, so the word about it has definitely spread.”

Unlike other solar panels, the SolarEdge system adapts to the unforeseen circumstances Mother Nature sometimes inflicts.

"Underneath every panel there is an optimiser, which makes each of them individual,” Mr Tilley said.

"If a cloud comes across and causes shadowing or a bird sits on the panel, the system will adjust itself and boost the affected area to compensate for the loss of solar.

"Also, in the case of emergencies, let's say there is a fire in the home, it will shut itself down and each panel will only produce one volt as a safety precaution.”

One of Mr Tilley's favourite aspects about the system is the maintenance side of business.

"The customer has a certain amount of access, we have a bit more and Solar Edge has even more,” he said.

"The majority of the time we can fix the solar system without having to contact SolarEdge.”

As the business enters its second successful decade of trading, MrTilley is confident the Solar Edge system will continue to be a leading solar product for families across the South Burnett.
