A Murgon man accused of raping a child is on trial in Kingaroy District Court this week.

Wilfred George Craig Georgetown, 39, pleaded guilty one offence of indecent treatment of a child under 16 with carnal knowledge, and not guilty to two counts of rape.

Crown prosecutor Tegan Little said the alleged offences occurred in January 2022 in the South Burnett.
The alleged victim “tried to toss and turn to get away from him”, the court heard.
Jurors were told they could expect to hear two hours and thirty minutes of recorded evidence from the alleged victim.
The trial is expected to conclude on Friday, April 21, 2023.
