Police seize $30k drugs in major South Burnett drug bust

More than 30 people have been implicated in the operation, with thousands of dollars in drugs seized

MURGON detectives have charged William Michael Knudson with 91 offences and seized more than $30,000 worth of illicit substances following the closure of Operation Knuckle yesterday. 

The 24-year-old appeared in the Cherbourg Magistrates Court this morning to face a raft of drug charges, including trafficking meth, receiving proceeds from drug trafficking, possessing property used in the commission of a drug offence, and a further 88 counts of supplying a dangerous drug.

He was held in custody and his matter was adjourned to the Kingaroy Magistrates court.

Knudson's arrest was the result of Operation Knuckle, which resulted in 31 search warrants and 34 people charged with 166 offences. 

Police seized more than $30,000 worth of drugs, with Knudson arrested in Kingaroy yesterday.

Detectives allege Knudson sold the methamphetamine between July 2019 and June 2020, in various quantities to 10 people in Kingaroy. 

Detective Acting Superintendent Mat Kelly said Operation Knuckle represented the ongoing commitment of police in the South Burnett District to target serious drug offenders and reduce drug related crimes in the community.
