A severe storm that swept across Nanango forced students, teachers and guests to flee for cover as they arrived for the school formal - but it did not stop the show from going on. See the stunning gallery of the Class of ‘23.

A severe hailstorm that dumped ice cubes on festivities was not enough to dampen the spirits of Nanango State High School seniors as they celebrated their formal on Friday evening, September 8.

The traditional red carpet arrivals by way of fancy cars was rudely interrupted by the freak storm which swept across the town and forced teachers, students and family to run for cover.

Frantic and ultimately successful efforts were made to rescue the red carpet. Students and guests then had make do by the light of torches for a short period after the storm knocked out power to the town.

The party eventually returned to a sense of normalcy, giving the assembled cohort an unforgettable end of year party, and a good story to tell for the rest of their lives.
