SWIMMING: MEMBERS of a local swimming club have thrown their support behind a special event to raise money for the rural fire services.

On Sunday, December 8 more than 20 people participated in Kingaroy Pool’s Swim-A-Thon with each lap adding towards a larger fundraising total.

For more than two hours they raced up and down the pool and reached a total of 58.7 kilometres.

The funds raised from the event are still being counted.

Some of the participants had a busy weekend after competiting at the Gympie Swim Meet and then backing it up at the Kingaroy Swim-A-Thon.

Check out all of the action from the pool deck in our gallery below.
