Damage rampage: Authorities investigate multiple vandalism cases in South Burnett

Police are appealing for information after a series of damaging incidents in two towns, including vandalism of homes and businesses.

Following a series of property damage cases in Murgon and Cherbourg, police are asking the public for help in identifying the vandals responsible for the recent incidents.

The Queensland Police Service released a statement on Tuesday appealing for public assistance following a series of wilful damage offences in Murgon and Cherbourg.

In Cherbourg, the first incident happened on July 17 on Barber St between 9pm and 10.30pm where unknown offenders allegedly approached a residence, kicked the front door, and caused significant damage before fleeing the scene.

Another incident took place in Murgon on Lamb St on July 20 about 1am, when a concrete brick was thrown at a business, damaging a window.

Over the weekend from July 19 to 22, unknown individuals allegedly used a stick to damage the front glass door pane and an object to crack two windows of a Cherbourg business on Fisher St.

Investigators are asking for public assistance to track down those responsible.

In a separate incident in Murgon, police are investigating a trespassing incident on Arnell St on July 17 at about 9pm.

The person in the image is wearing shorts, a long sleeve top, a face covering, a beanie and long socks.

Authorities advise the public not to approach anyone they believe matches the description in the image.

Senior Constable Danielle Gordon of the Murgon Police is leading the investigations stressed the importance of community support in resolving these cases.

“We are urging anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents or who may have information that could assist with our inquiries to come forward,” she said.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact the Queensland Police Service.
