D’Aguilar Hwy rollover: Two dead in horror crash at Barker Creek Flat

A horror crash on the D’Aguilar Hwy has killed two men – a 31-year-old from Nanango and 28-year-old from Tara – with police probing reports of a vehicle driving dangerously.

Two people have been killed in a horror crash on the D’Aguilar Hwy while a third has suffered significant injuries.

A 31-year old man from Nanango who police say was driving the vehicle and a 20-year-old male passenger from Tara both died at the scene, while a 28-year-old Kingaroy man sustained serious injuries and remains at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The crash occurred on the D’Aguilar Hwy at Barker Creek Flat, between Nanango and Kingaroy.

Paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle rollover near the Meandu Creek crossing just after 3.20pm.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed three people were assessed at the scene, including two with critical injuries.

Two rescued helicopters were tasked to the scene, and one person was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.

Police are now investigating if another vehicle seen driving dangerously along the highway was involved in the crash.

Two people from a separate car witnessed the crash and are assisting police with their inquiries.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are also appealing for anyone who witnessed the driving behaviour of the vehicle prior to the crash or who has dashcam footage of the area at the time, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
