Kahleesi Roser: Fundraiser to bring body of 7yo killed in Harts Range tragedy home to Qld

The Yarraman community has banded together to bring the body of little Kahleesi Roser home to Queensland after she was tragically killed while adventuring with her family.

Freak accident leaves UK mum at risk of paralysis or death

The Yarraman community is rallying to bring home the body of 7-year-old Kahleesi Roser, who was tragically killed in a freak accident during a family adventure earlier this month.

Kahleesi and her family travelled to the Top End from regional Queensland just three days before the horror accident happened near Harts Range – about 215 km northeast of Alice Springs – on June 5.

She was travelling in the car with her dad and several other people when she fell from the window of the vehicle.

Kahleesi sustained serious head injuries and was initially taken to the Harts Range clinic, before being flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Neighbour and close family friend Rob Holland said he “didn’t believe it” when he first heard what had happened, immediately calling Kahleesi’s father Kim Roser who confirmed the devastating news.

“It’s too close to home. Kim told me exactly what had happened and I knew then we had to do something,” Mr Holland said.

The little girl’s body remains in South Australia with the coroner, and it will cost the single father upward of $10,000 to bring her home, on top of significant funeral costs.

The Yarraman P-9 student was the youngest of six children.

“Kim’s very well known in the community and his little girl is loved by everyone. She’s a ray of sunshine all right, little Kahleesi,” Mr Holland said.

“She’s just out there. That’s the best way to describe her. Friends with everyone.”

The Yarraman community has banded together to help the family with 15 raffle prizes already donated from local businesses toward a fundraiser planned for July 9.

Mr Holland, who is one of the events organisers, said the fundraiser would take place at the Yarraman Bowls Club and would bring the region together for bowls, live music, facepainting and more.

A courtesy bus will also be available on the day.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to raise $10,000 to help bring Kahleesi home to Queensland, fund her funeral and support the family in future.

So far, more than $4500 has been donated.
