How South Burnett Regional Council spent $28k discretionary fund

From kindergartens to rugby league clubs and theatres, the groups that benefited from South Burnett Council’s $28k discretionary fund can now be revealed.

Each year the South Burnett Regional Council provides a discretionary fund to councillors to assist community organisations or causes.

This year councillors and Mayor Brett Otto spent a total $18,233.18 of the available $28,000.

Deputy Mayor Gavin Jones, Councillor Roz Frohloff, Councillor Danita Potter, Councillor Kirstie Schumacher, Councillor Kathy Duff and Councillor Scott Henschen were each allocated $3000.

Mr Brett Otto expended $4,000

Kumbia & District Memorial School of the Arts, donation towards the Festival of Small Halls: $1,000.

Kumbia Kindergarten, donation towards movie night fundraiser: $500.

Proston Show Society, donation towards purchase of equipment: $800.

Taabinga State School P & C, donation towards awards presentations: $200.

Visit South Burnett Inc, donation towards Visit The South Burnett – Visitors Guide: $500.

Wondai Junior Rugby League, donation towards field maintenance: $500.

Wondai Rifle Club, donation towards event: $500.

Mrs Roz Frohloff expended $2439.34

Nanango Community Centre, donation towards industrial fans $306.

Nanango & District Kindergarten, donation towards purchase of a gym mattress $500.

Nanango Netball, donation towards training equipment $500

Nanango Rugby League Club, donation towards equipment $300.

Nanango Theatre Company, donation towards 2 day acting workshop $500.

South Burnett Woodcrafters Association, donation towards opening $333.34.

Mr Gavin Jones expended $2674

Bunya Mountains Community Organisation, donation towards Bunya Rainforest Experience: $708.

Kingaroy QCWA, donation towards Centenary Celebrations: $580.

Lions Club of Benarkin, donation towards Over 60s event: $500.

NaTDA, donation towards Nanango’s 175th Anniversary Celebration: $500.

Special Children’s Christmas Party, donation towards 2021 event: $100.
