AFTER 17 years in the hairdressing game, Leanne Preston knows a thing or two about cutting hair.

Now the entrepreneurial woman behind Nanango's Evolution Hair Studio has set her sights on Kingaroy.

This will be Ms Preston's fourth South Burnett hair studio in which she has been involved.

She first got involved in hairdressing when she was 20.

Looking back, she didn't think she would do too much differently.

"I would tell that girl to just keep going,” she said.

"Never say die.”

Ms Preston said the Kingaroy studio had been a goal since 2013.

"I just feel like this is a growing area,” she said.

"We will be able to service a bigger area.”

Based in Haly St, Ms Preston was not fazed that there were all ready a number of hairdressers in the same street.

"You can never have too many,” she said.

The in-house hairdresser is Mark Schulz, who happens to be Ms Preston's neighbour.

"I will often say to him 'I am having a bad day, do you want to come over and have cocktails?',” she said.

Mr Schulz has been a hairdresser for 24 years.

He said he loved he was able to flex his imaginative muscle.

"I love the creativeness of it,” he said.

The opening date for Kingaroy's Evolution Hair Studio is Monday, October 28.
