Artificial intelligence software is improving exponentially and is now the subject of worldwide debate.

But how good is it?

Residents of the South Burnett said photos generated by ChatGPT, when asked to write a short description of an average man and woman from Nanango, Cherbourg, Goomeri and Kingaroy, were on the money.

News Corp used AI-software to generate six images of what the region’s people look like.

A biography was generated for each in ChatGPT.

Members of the public said the images were overall very accurate.

Meet Kingaroy man John

Meet John, an average man in his early 40s from Kingaroy, a town in the South Burnett region of Queensland.

Kingaroy is known for its wine and peanut production, so John might work in agriculture, supporting the local industries that form the economic backbone of the region.

If not directly involved in farming, John might be employed in related industries such as transport, warehousing, and support services that sustain the region‘s primary industries.

He could also work in health care or education, which are among the largest sectors of employment in regional Queensland.

In his spare time, John might be involved in local community events or volunteer groups.

Kingaroy resident Justin Mitchell said John from Kingaroy looked similar to people he knew around the town.

“So far from what I’ve seen it’s accurate,” Mr Mitchell said.
