KIRSTEN Steinohrt and Ben York achieved the top OP scores among the Roma State College Year 12 cohort.

RSC head of senior campus Kate Van Der Meulen confirmed the top placing but wouldn't release their rankings, which were released early Saturday.

She said her students had been exceptional in earning scores in the top bands.

"I'm very pleased, because 100 per cent of our OP students were in the 1-15 range with their scores.

"They have all worked so hard and can be very proud of what they have achieved,” she said.

Students from RSC and St John's School were among the 21,333 Queensland students who received an OP score between 1 and 15 - grades that will get them in to university courses.

Statewide, 94 per cent of all Queensland students will receive the Queensland Certificate of Education, recognising their achievement in school courses, vocational training and workplace learning.

While 21,333 of those students will receive an OP score, another 31,395 across the state have become qualified with a VET Certificate I, II, III or IV.

Education Minister Grace Grace weighed in on the results, and said the students could now focus on a trade, university, or moving into the workforce.

"Results show the class of 2018 worked to a consistently high standard, with 94 per cent of graduates achieving a QCE,” Ms Grace said.

"That is a fantastic result and I congratulate the students for their efforts.

"I'd also like to pay tribute to the teachers who have played a very important role in helping students reach their potential,” she said.

Queensland highest achievers - and top student - will be commended in February next year at the annual QCE achievement awards.
