South will play the Leprechauns in the Men's T20 final this Saturday

CRICKET: The Men's T20 semi finals were played on Saturday, consisting of three matches with Souths and the Leprechauns proceeding to the final.

The first game was played at Gallas Fox Park between Souths and Wallumbilla.

Wallumbilla opened the proceedings, making 103 runs off their 20 overs.

Souths replied with determination, chasing down the target in the eighth over with Ryan Carter remaining unbeaten, belting 80 off 32 balls.

The second game was played at Colts Oval between Walumbilla and the Leprechauns and by this time the 37 degree heat was settling in.

But the heat was no barrier to the Leprechauns, who came out strong and won the game.

The third and final game was played at Colts Oval, with Souths beating the Leprechauns and wrapping up the afternoon with two wins for the day.

The Leprechauns opened and remained standing with six out for 97 off their 20 overs.

AJ Riley made 24 and M Brailey made 27, with Clancy Sheehan tormenting the Leprechauns, taking 3/15 with the ball.

In reply, Souths put on a showcase of formidable batting, chasing the total down in the 10th over without losing a wicket.

Souths' substantial batting partnerships consisted of Ryan Carter with 46 not out off 30 balls and Scott Hilton with 48 not out off 30 balls.

Souths will advance to the final, matching up against the Leprechauns for an exciting game.

The final will be played at Colts Oval this Saturday, November 3 at 11am after the juniors.
