LESS than two weeks out from Roma's biggest weekend, things are getting colourful.

The family fun event not to be missed this year is Easter in the Country's Senex ColourXplosion, taking place on Easter Sunday for the fourth year.

Organised by Sergeant Greg Caletti, branch manager at Roma PCYC, the 5km track features six stations, where the whole family can watch themselves become living colour books.

"It's not really a race. It's a family fun run and walk. In the past we've had people bring their pushbikes, parents pushing their kids in prams, and we've had little ones on scooters,” he said.

"We've shortened the course up this year, but we'll keep the same six colour stations, and halfway through there will also be a water station.”

Sgt Caletti said the event was open to all ages, and gave the Brazier brothers a sneak peak on Wednesday.

"This is awesome,” Charlie Brazier said.

"It'll be so much fun.”

Set to be bigger than before, local firefighters, police, and SES will be involved, with a special appearance from the fire cannon blaster, set to shower participants before they begin to ensure they retain as much colourful powder as possible.

"We get up on top of the fire engine before it starts, and throw a whole bunch of powder in the air to cover everyone in before they get on with the track,” SgtCaletti said.

The event begins at 8.15am on Easter Sunday.
