Shocked residents returned to their home after a Christmas break to find that it had been broken into and ransacked while they were away.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said an unknown offender or offenders allegedly smashed through the front door of the Foott Street address and did an untidy search of the house at some point between December 22 and 26.
They took some car keys, however police do not believe anything else was stolen, although the house was left in a mess.
“The building was locked and secured at the time,” the spokeswoman said.
“No one was inside at the time that they were entered.”
Police are not aware of any car thefts related to this incident at the time of publication.
