Roma State College students have been advised to study from home following a break-in at the senior campus on Thursday night resulting in extensive damage to buildings.

In an email to parents, a Roma State College staff member informed parents that students were permitted to stay at home the next day on Friday August 12 as the school works to make alternative learning arrangements.

“There has been significant damage to A Block at the Senior Campus overnight as a result of a break in,” the email said.

“There are numerous classrooms impacted on level 2 including general learning areas and some computer labs.

“The ground floor staffroom has also been damaged.

“As A Block is heavily used for teaching and learning across the timetable for all year levels, this will have a major impact on our ability to operate under normal conditions tomorrow.”
