While many were enjoying Christmas celebrations this weekend, South West Queensland police were kept busy on the roads.

As per the police’s continual warning, Christmas was significantly less merry for those who drove under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

On December 25, police allege a Roma man was driving along Tiffin St in Roma where he was intercpted and returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.169. Police have charged the 39-year-old with high range drink driving.

Police will also allege a 24-year-old man was intercepted on the Warrego Highway and charged with driving while disqualified.

A 26-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man have been charged with drug driving. The Glenvale woman and Roma man both allegedly returned positive roadside drug tests in Roma over the weekend.

Police continue to urge the community to always have a plan B and never get behind the wheel if they’ve had a drink.
