No tolerance for abuse in our shops

A SHOPPER who verbally abused staff and patrons of the Roma IGA has been issued an infringement notice.

The Wallumbilla man was reportedly upset with the supermarket’s new policy to stop the spread of coronavirus, and took out his frustrations on the public after being asked to respect social distancing rules.

Roma police are reminding all shoppers to be respectful, and to follow social distancing procedure.

Police have the power to enforce all health directives during the COVID-19 crisis.

Misbehaving kids bailed out

A SPATE of trespassing and vehicle break ins around Roma has been tied to a group of three children.

The group, aged 13 to 15, have been charged with a variety of trespassing offences, and have since been released on bail to appear in Roma Children’s Court in April and June.

Police are asking the public to remain vigilant, and ensure their cars and homes are locked.

Police powers extended in crisis

IN LIGHT of the coronavirus pandemic, Roma police are reminding locals to follow all directions made by health officials, and specifically rules around social distancing.

This includes house parties and social gatherings, which police have been forced to break up.

Social distancing is now being policed, and on the spot fines of $1334 can apply to individuals who don’t comply.
