Police are calling for public help to find Jeremiah Rivers as initial search scaled back

The search for a 27-year-old man missing in remote southwest for a week has been scaled back.

Police are continuing to appeal for information to find 27-year-old footballer who went missing near Noccundra a week ago, as the initial search is scaled back.

Jeremiah Rivers was last seen near Wilsons River, about 20km south of Noccundra, at about 9.30am on Monday, October 18.

Queensland Police Service has advised the family and will continue to provide on any updates.

The co-ordinated extensive search included police, SES personal in vehicles, motorcycles and ATVs.

Aerial searches were conducted by fixed-wing aircraft, including with FLIR capability, and a gyrocopter.

Police divers have also been used during the search.

Jeremiah is described as Aboriginal, approximately 185cm tall, with a slim build and a tattoo of a cross under his right arm.

He was last seen wearing a red Chicago Bulls singlet, red Adidas sneakers and black jeans.

As part of the ongoing investigating, police are liaising with their NSW counterparts, and urge anyone with information regarding his current whereabouts to come forward immediately.
